Latin Name: Lactuca sativa

Days to Maturity: 50-75 Days
Germination Days: 5-10 Days
Germination Temp: 40 to 70 degrees F. Temps higher than 80 decrease germination. 
Prior to planting, soak seeds for 24 hours in a well-lit area. During summer, it's much easier to sprout seeds indoors, then transfer outdoors, when temps are much higher.
During germination, keep the soil moist, but not too wet.
Planting Depth: 1/8"
Planting Spacing: Place a few seeds every 6" to 7"
Row Spacing: 6", Once height reaches 1/2" to 3/4", thin out spacing to every 6"
Light: Full Sun or partial shade
Soil Type: Well-drained, fertile soil

Days to Harvest: 30-55 Days
Harvesting:
Leaves - Within 30 Days: When leaves are between 2" to 4" in length, cut the entire lettuce right about 1-1/2" above soil, to then allow it to grow again. You can continue to repeat this harvesting. above the level of soil. You can harvest leaves at anytime to enjoy in your salads, yet always ensure more than 50% leaves remain intact for optimal regrowth.
Heads - Within 55 Days: Harvest when heads are firm and compact, by cutting right above soil level. Overnight, lettuce leaves become cool and build moisture, and if harvested in the morning, before the sun heats up, you will enjoy a crispier, tastier lettuce.
